BASIL

Basil is a great boy. He is very smart and affectionate and also quite independent. He is a very mellow young boy but he does love to play! He is neutered and up to date on all shots, heartworm and flea preventative.

He has graduated from DogBoy's Puppy Class and Level I Obedience class, although he would benefit from taking Level I again. His recall is excellent and he is usually quite content to hang out at your side off-leash.  On leash, however, he is a puller, so a Gentle Leader or Easy Walk Harness is recommended with him. He is crate trained, and house trained.  He actually prefers to sleep in his crate. He is capable of jumping up to a 7ft fence (when he's motivated to get to something on the other side) so would need to be supervised during outside time.

Basil can be protective of his food towards other dogs. He sometimes chews his bed if he gets frustrated, and he does enjoy stealing shoes. He just hides them though! He really doesn't do well at dog parks, so I would advise against taking him there.

He really is a fantastic boy and with the right training I think he will grow into the best dog anyone could ask for. He is a boxer mix.
