Register now for the 10th Annual Mighty Texas Dog Walk on Saturday, May 17th.
We need YOU to win the Guinness World Record for "Largest Dog Walk" back from the Brits who stole it from Texas! Record to beat - 10,272 dogs.
Every walker gets a collector's T-shirt (and a DogBoy’s t-shirt if you respond by Friday!), a dog bowl and a gold medal for your dog. DogBoy’s will be handing out fruit, and hopefully our signature bandanas to all spayed and neutered dogs, so come by and say hello! We have a small team of walkers who will be walking. So join us and sign up today! If you want to walk with our team, just forward your emailed confirmation from your registration to us NO LATER than FRIDAY, May 9th! You can reach us at reservations@dogboys.com.
Proceeds from this event benefit Texas Hearing & Service Dogs.

After much anticipation and some pretty major obstacles, we are closer than ever to breaking ground on our new indoor training facility. The building has been moved to the five acre tract east of DogBoy's home, which will make plenty of room for specialized day care, swim classes, seminars, movie nights, and tracking for Search & Rescue. We are waiting on final approval from the city this week, and hope to be breaking ground very soon. We will keep you posted with updates as things progress!
Congratulations to our trainers who were recently all awarded the title of Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT) by the Association for Pet Dog Trainers. This is a very high honor, involving months of study and hours of rigorous testing. Our paws are raised to Bart Emken, Sandra England, Rebecca Andrews, Paula Baker Prince and Marcella Slaughter for all their hard work and dedication.
We are so proud of you!

A big Woof Woof & Howdy to all the dogs wanting to play at DogBoy’s this summer! While the folks are away on their own vacations, we’d love to have you join us at “summer camp” for canines. However, a spot on the ranch is at a premium during those hot Texas weekends. We tend to fill up at least a month (sometimes two months) in advance so remind your owner to book YOUR summer vacation today!

We, at DogBoy’s, have defended the Pit Bull Terrier for over 12 years and have accepted them into our facility without hesitation. However, due to past injuries inflicted by the breed here at DogBoy’s, we will no longer be able to accommodate new Pit Bull clients for boarding or daycare. This decision was difficult to make, but was made with YOUR pet in mind. Our #1 concern is the safety for all of our boarders, no matter their breed. Again, this decision was not spontaneous in nature, but made with much consideration, and we very much appreciate your understanding.
This policy also applies to Pit Bull mixes and Staffordshire Bull Terriers. OUR STAFF is not excluded from this new course of action if they own one of these breeds. If a new customer brings their dog in for an evaluation as a “mixed breed”, but the staff recognizes it to be a mix of one of the breeds listed above, they reserve the right to inform the customer as such. We will be happy to evaluate the dog, but please know that they may not be allowed back due to this policy. We are still happy to train these breeds in group classes and private lessons.
Current Pit Bull and Staffordshire clients are still welcome.
Again, we truly appreciate your understanding in this matter. If you have any questions regarding this new policy, please contact our Kennel Manager at Sandra@dogboys.com.

At DogBoy’s, we recycle all of our metal, plastic & cardboard – a whole truck load every month goes to downtown Austin at Ecology Action. Earlier this year, we were thinking of ways to split the load. Down the road from us is a metal recycling plant and they PAY you for metal. Let’s see if it’s worth the trip? Our first visit brought $5. What if we added metal from our house? $6.35. What if we asked our employees to bring their metal in? $18.18! What if we asked all our clients to bring their metal cans to us?
Please, help us find out! The money we are raising goes to pay for our Dogs in Need fund. It helps dogs who can’t help themselves. If you would like to participate, please bring clean steel (magnet will stick) or aluminum cans to the large grey trash cans on the front porch. We will keep you posted on our progress!

Chief, an old Great Pyranese, has lived next door for 10 years. Chief was a true working dog. He never lived inside; his only job was to protect the other livestock on the neighbor’s farm. Through cold winters, pouring rainstorms, and 110 degree heat, Chief protected llamas, peacocks, cows, goats, a goose, and wild turkeys. He had a big job to do for many years. He did not ever enjoy the luxuries of air conditioning, a warm bed, regular baths, or preventative medicines. Over time, Chief injured his ACL on one leg, and had a bad hip on the other. His injuries were never repaired. Lack of heartworm preventative means that he also contracted heart worms – years ago, and now has a significant heart murmur. His heart can no longer take the surgery needed to correct his ACL.
Our neighbor is moving to a larger farm over 50 miles away. We thought, and convinced our neighbor, that it was time for Chief to retire. We promised that if she was willing, we would love to take care of him, give him medication for his pain, and treat him like the king he is. She sadly agreed that we were right, and surrendered him to our care. So if you see a giant white dog on the property, give him some love, and know that we are in the presence of greatness. Chief can now retire in style.
