My dogs LOVE heading to DogBoy's while I go on vacation, and I love it too. As much as I love my 2 bubbly, bouncing Brittany’s, it’s nice to know whether I’m lying on the beach or visiting family they are having the time of their lives swimming, running and making new friends. However it’s nice to take a trip that includes them every once in a while.

Many people debate on weather (pun intended) or not it’s appropriate to bring their dogs out for a day of play on the coldest of days. It’s understandable that one would be concerned about their dog in our outdoor setting when it’s especially chilly or icy. It’s a tough choice; let my dog stay at home all day when I’m away or allow them to go to daycare, as normal, where they may be out in the elements? Let us assure you of a few things.

Dogs are Social...
Dogs are very social beings, not only with us but with other dogs as well. It’s important for our dogs to spend time with other dogs. By interacting with others, dogs get exercise, the ability to socialize, mental stimulation, and play can be just plain old fun. 

Dog parks allow us the opportunity to have our dogs off-leash, get exercise and enjoy the company of other dogs. Knowing what to be aware of when dogs are playing can mean the difference between a safe, fun time, and our dogs learning unwanted behaviors, becoming injured or having traumatic experiences. Safe dog play generally consists of two dogs both participating and playing in a similar style.

My husband and I recently welcomed a new dog into the pack (oh, joy!). I won’t mention that brings the total pups to…umm…five in the Baker Prince household! Ok, I guess I will mention it.

We know leash laws can be a pain in the backside when it comes to public spaces.  At DogBoy's, safety is one of our main points of focus here so we want to explain our leash policy in a little more detail.

Your canine companion is more than just a pet, he is your family. Your dog is there every morning when you wake up, and waits for you to return home from work at the end of the day. He is your constant companion and your best buddy. If this sounds like your dog, then daycare may be a fun way to entertain him on days you're not able to do it yourself.

Sunny days are the best, especially when you're an active pup living it up at DogBoy's in doggie daycare.  However, dogs are prone to heat stress. Here at the ranch want you to know that we keep a close watch on our furry friends, especially when the temperature rises. While Fido stays with us, his welfare is critical and our utmost concern. We want him to be healthy and happy while at DogBoy's and when he wags his tail back home to you.
