Farewell DogBoy's, Time to Turn the Page by Jay Robison
"All lives are stories," said Matt Smith in his last episode as The Doctor on Doctor Who, "just make sure yours is a good one." Over the last 8 and a half years, it has been my honor and privilege to have DogBoy’s as a part of my story, and it has been very good. But all stories have chapters, and all chapters must end. So it is with sadness mixed with anticipation that I announce my departure from DogBoy’s at the end of May to take on an exciting new position at Apple Computer. Today, May 22nd was officially my last day at DogBoy's Dog Ranch.

I decided to write this blog post to let you (our clients) know that I will be leaving DogBoy’s as of March 9th. I realize this is short notice on my part and I apologize for that. I will be moving to beautiful Vancouver, WA to be closer to my family. The decision to move has been a difficult one for me and still is heart wrenching. To all of our clients reading this, I want you to know I would not be the same without having met every one of you.

The magic? That feeling you get when you see or feel something that you can't explain. DogBoy's is just a name and it is just a place. The magic is in the people who work here. The "magic" started in the early 1990's. I was not feeling any magic at my job in advertising. They were right at school, "Advertising is hard, cut-throat, demanding and has little reward. You are only as good as your last ad." My mind and body said, "Screw that," and I began to ask myself what I really wanted to do, what I loved doing and how that was going to support me financially.

Dog Training 101: Why Participating in Classes is Important to Me
Elsie was a poster child for Dog Training. I adopted my 8 year old dog, Elsie, about 7 months ago. I took her on because her previous owner couldn’t accommodate her needs any longer. I will admit, she is a difficult one. She’s been known to be a great escape artist, a digger, reactive to any noise she thinks is a door knock/bell and barks at anyone outside the house, even if they’re down the street. She’s afraid of people, alert barking at anyone that dares come too close and she doesn’t like most dogs. She’s been in a couple of serious fights and has bitten a neighbor’s dog. The costly amount of damage that she did over the years is astonishing; truly, the list of tests goes on and on. I guess I’m just crazy enough to have accepted this challenge.

My husband and I recently welcomed a new dog into the pack (oh, joy!). I won’t mention that brings the total pups to…umm…five in the Baker Prince household! Ok, I guess I will mention it.
