Some friendly Dog Park reminders for you and your dog(s):

  • ALL DOGS MUST BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED TO ATTEND.
  • Please make sure your friendly dog is wearing a nylon or leather collar. We will not allow dogs on pinch, prong, choke or shock collars.
  • Please keep small white fluffy dogs on leash and out of the park. These cute little furballs can be confused for bunnies, and can encourage prey drive in larger dogs.
  • Bring only friendly dogs who don’t mind being sniffed by other dogs, dogs in their face or dogs who may engage in physical play.  This isn’t a place to bring dogs to “become socialized” – dogs should already have good social skills with other dogs.

  • Move through the entrance gate quickly.  Remove your dog’s leash and walk away.  Be mindful of other dogs and people coming and going (don’t let anyone else's dogs out!).

  • Watch your dog and walk around.  Always have an eye on where your dog is and what your dog is doing while you keep moving around the park.

  • Be ready to pull your dog from the park if your dog is unhappy, panicked, overwhelmed, growling at other dogs, being a bully or being bullied.

  • Play is a mutual activity between dogs.  Both dogs have to consent.  If your dog tells another dog to leave him alone, and the dog ignores that, help get your dog out of that situation by calling your dog to you or physically removing your dog.  Likewise, if your dog is ignoring signals from other dogs to back off, you will need to get your dog back to you.
