Sprinkler Head
Sprinkler Head, cunningly named because of the sprinkler system within its bounds,
is the playgroup directly in front of the original kennel. This flowery spot is
saved for the little dogs, elderly dogs, and those who prefer the company of
little dogs. It is also a great place to keep dogs close who need to be watched
more carefully, because of predisposition to heat stress. Short-nosed breeds, elderly and/or overweight
dogs are more susceptible than some, and therefore cannot stay out for long
periods of time. Instead, they get many, many short jaunts throughout the day.
If you notice the signs saying, "DO NOT APPROACH FENCE", please understand
that it is not posted so much as to protect you, as it is the dogs. Approaching
a fence full of excited dogs can cause one or more of them to turn on a playmate
for your attention. Please help us and them by respecting the signs and ensuring
your children keep a safe distance as well. |
