          SNIP Fest Rocks the House!

For those of you who missed it, SNIP Fest 2004 was a HUGE success!  We honored the founding members of the coalition, enjoyed some great music by Eric Blakely, Robert Frye, and Vallejo, munched on some yummy food from Amy’s Ice Creams, El Arroyo, Fazoli’s Pizza & Pasta, Hot Diggity Dog, and As Good As It Gets (kettle corn), and visited with over 40 pet-loving vendors.  Watch this video clip for a short, wonderful peek at the day, and click here for more photos.

Many thanks go out to St. Arnold for donating the great beer (and their new root beer!), Reddy Ice, all of our volunteers, and Brenda Thompson Communications – our publicist, who helped us put the whole thing on and then told the nation all about it.  We were featured in over 5 publications, on the news twice, and mentioned in countless community calendars.

Although the rain cut the event short, when all was said and done we had over 500 attendees, and very few glitches.  As our soaking wet vendors were leaving, they told us how much fun they had, and how they hoped we’d do this again. I can happily say that we are anxiously looking forward to SNIP Fest 2005!

Since 99% of you have spayed and neutered pets, you can take advantage of the incentives these wonderful businesses have to offer.  Check out all the SNIP Member businesses and their incentives. Ask us for a SNIP Customer Card, so you don’t have to bring vet records to the participating businesses. All you need is the card!

Also, if your company sells a product or service to the public and would like to join SNIP, all you have to do is fill out our online application. Non-pet related businesses can submit an application NOW and we’ll automatically sign them up to officially join in January, when we open it up to all businesses. Stay tuned for more exciting SNIP News via the SNIP website – www.dogboys.com/snip.

           The Holidays Are Approaching!

For those of you who planned far enough ahead to get a Thanksgiving or Christmas reservation, be prepared for a phone call confirming your reservation.  We do this about a month out from each respective holiday, so that any cancellations can be filled with those of you on the waiting list.  You are welcome to confirm in advance by calling us, or dropping an email.

Please remember that your holiday reservation deposits are non-refundable.  If you need to cancel, the value of that deposit will be added to your account, and that money can be used for future boarding, day care, training, or retail items.

          Training News

Thank you to everyone who made our agility classes such a huge success!

We have a new Beginner's agility class starting Sunday, October 17th, at two o'clock in the afternoon. There are still a few spaces available, so call to sign up today!

Intermediate classes (or Level II agility) will begin sometime in mid October, but no official dates have been set yet. Check the website within the next few weeks for those dates.

And, finally, since Howloween is just around the corner, mark your calendars for a frightful October 30th competition. Okay, so it won't be scary, but it will be fun! All current agility participants/students are invited to attend the Saturday afternoon friendly competition with refreshments provided. We will also have a pet costume contest (if you're interested) and even if you are not a current agility Superstar, you are invited to come out and see what it's all about. Each 10 minute run will be $5.00. The agility competition will be from 2-5pm.

Please call us at 251-7600 or email training@dogboys.com to sign up any of the above classes or for more info.

      Online Reservation System Update

We are feverishly working on our Online Reservation System.  Ironing out all the details is taking some time, but we predict that it will all be complete no later than January of 2005.  If you are interested in being a beta tester, please contact Courtney. We are as excited as you are to get this off and running!
