Sprinkler Head, cunningly named because of the sprinkler system within its bounds, is the playgroup directly in front of the original kennel. This flowery spot is saved for the small dogs, elderly dogs, and those who prefer the company of small dogs. It is also a great place to keep dogs close who need to be watched more carefully, because of predisposition to heat stress. Short-nosed breeds, elderly and/or overweight dogs are more susceptible to heat stress, and therefore cannot stay out for long periods of time. Instead, they get many, many short jaunts throughout the day.
