Dogboy's is Central Texas' first All Spayed and Neutered boarding facility.
DogBoy feels it is his duty to do what he can to help stop pet overpopulation in Central Texas. The simple truth is we see TOO MANY innocent dogs hit by cars or put down because people aren't doing the right thing and spaying or neutering their animals. To clarify, we are not at all against breeding, we just think many people breed for the wrong reasons.
So what does this mean for you and your dogs? Well if you want to board with us, it means this:
- All dogs over the age of 6 months must be spayed or neutered to board here.
- Our only exceptions to the policy are pedigreed dogs who are either working or active in show, titled but retired show dogs, or dogs with a doctor's note stating that sedation for spay or neuter would be life threatening to the animal (i.e. heart defect, epilepsy, etc.).
Most of our customers have been AMAZINGLY supportive of our policy. We are also happy to have the support of all the local animal shelters and rescue groups who think this is a step in the right direction!
