Rules of the Game - Boarding
- All dogs over the age of 6 months must be spayed or neutered. For
details on this policy, click here.
- All dogs must have current vaccination records on file with us. This
includes Rabies, DHLP, and Bordetella (to prevent Kennel Cough) within one
year of the boarding date. Bordatella is a special request vaccine, so
not all vets give it regularly. Do not assume that your dog is "all up
to date" just because he or she recently went to the vet. Call to be
sure!
If your dog has had a bad reaction to a vaccine in the past, and is
under doctor's orders not to be re-vaccinated, please supply a note from
your vet.
- From March to September all dogs are also required to be on some kind
of flea growth inhibitor such as Program, Sentinel, Frontline, Advantage,
or Revolution. A tick repellent is also highly recommended.
-
Have your vet fax the records directly to us prior to boarding, so
that we may call you if anything is missing. Our fax number is (512)
252-3102.
- We are happy to give medication to your dog at no extra charge as long
as you adhere to the following guidelines:
- All medication must come in a clearly marked container (preferably
the original container - NO BAGGIES PLEASE!) with the following information:
- Dog's Name
- Name of Medication and strength
- Dosage per day or as needed (prn)
- After we fill out the medication dosing card for each medication brought,
you will be asked to initial what we have filled out, to show that you
agree with what is written on the card. It is also VERY important that
you let us know what doses if any your dog has already been given that
day.
-
All dogs must have a collar on with a name tag and a current rabies
tag already attached. No choke chains, shock collars, or pinch collars
are allowed in the kennel as they present a hazard to dogs while in playgroup
(and we don't like them). We also ask that your dog not wear a harness
here, as they can get caught up on fences (and other dogs like to use them
as a "doggie handle").
-
LABEL EVERYTHING you bring for your dog with his/her name on it
and place whatever will fit into a plastic grocery bag. We are not responsible
for any items lost or destroyed. Also, please take your leash with you,
so we don't lose it.
-
Make your reservations as far in advance as possible. We currently
have almost 4,000 customers with over 5,000 dogs, and we only have room
for 80-100 at a time, depending on the number of dogs per run. We book up
for holidays early in the year (like JANUARY!) and weekends fill up weeks
(sometimes months) in advance, so please, please, PLEASE...PLAN AHEAD!
-
Read the Rules of the Game for Doggie Day Care.
-
CANCELLATION POLICY - We require 24 hours notice of cancellation
for non-holiday reservations and 72 hours notice for holiday reservations. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's reservations require 7 days notice.
Our cancellation fee is $50 or half the amount of the nights reserved,
whichever is less, if the required notice is not given. We ask a credit
card number be kept on file for such an event.
