Dear Dog Girl and Dog Boy,
We wanted to let you know that Brutus is recovering well from his bloat surgery and will be able to come home tonight. Thanks to the vigilance of your staff and the fact that you took him to the emergency vet so quickly, the bloat didn't progress to the point where any of his organs were damaged. He should be back to his sweet, lazy self in no time.
We really appreciate the level of attention and compassion you show our dogs on a consistent basis. This time your attentiveness and quick thinking saved Brutus's life. We know that your policy of not letting the dogs exert themselves too soon after eating is intended to prevent bloat, but we also know that bloat can happen for no identifiable reason no matter what steps you take to prevent it. Your staff quickly noticed that Brutus was not acting like himself, then made multiple attempts to call us. We were unreachable for a couple of hours, and during that time they left multiple messages on each of our cell phones and even contacted my mother in an attempt to reach us. Once the decision to take him to the emergency vet was made, the staff drove him there and kept us informed of the developments until we were able to get back to Austin. Besides taking him to the vet after hours and paying for tests until we could reimburse you, a staff member even stayed with him until it was clear that he would be okay after the surgery. We appreciate the fact that he had a friend with him to comfort him during this scary time.
We cannot thank you all enough for the care you gave Brutus this weekend. You always take such good care of Brutus and Lulu, but this was truly above and beyond what was required. If any prospective customers ever want to talk to someone about the level of attentiveness and compassion Dogboy's shows their boarders, please feel free to have them contact us. Thanks for all that you do!
Bryan and Lynsey Patrick
